چکیده

Sterols play a key role in various physiological processes of plants. Commonly, stigmasterol, β-sitosterol and campesterol represent the main plant sterols, cholesterol is often reported as trace sterol. Changes especially β-sitosterol/stigmasterol levels, can be induced by different biotic abiotic factors. Plant parasitic nematodes, such root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita, are devastating pathogens known to circumvent defense mechanisms. In this study, we investigated changes sterols agricultural important crops, Brassica juncea (brown mustard), Cucumis sativus (cucumber), Glycine max (soybean), Solanum lycopersicum (tomato) Zea mays (corn), 21 days post inoculation (dpi) with M. incognita. The affected ratio, an increase decrease stigmasterol S. lycopersicum, G. max, C. Z. mays. Furthermore, levels increased tomato, cucumber corn, while were below detection limit respective uninfected To better understand gene expression analysis was conducted tomato cv. Moneymaker for sterol 22C-desaturase CYP710A11, responsible conversion stigmasterol. Our results showed that CYP710A11 line profile after incognita infection. Since plant-pathogen interactions, finding opens novel insights interactions.

Differential Metabolic Profiles during the Developmental Stages of Plant-Parasitic Nematode Meloidogyne incognita

Meloidogyne incognita is a common root-knot nematode with a wide range of plant hosts. We aimed to study the metabolites produced at each stage of the nematode life cycle to understand its development. Metabolites of Meloidogyne incognita were extracted at egg, J2, J3, J4, and female stages and 110 metabolites with available standards were quantified using CE-TOF/MS. Analyses indicated abundanc...

RNA-Seq of Plant-Parasitic Nematode Meloidogyne incognita at Various Stages of Its Development

Meloidogyne incognita is a plant-parasitic nematode which attacks a diverse variety of plants (Mitkowski and Abawi, 2003). The life cycle of this nematode is comprised of five stages namely eggs, J2, J3, and J4 juveniles and adults. Female adults are important in the life cycle as they produce eggs which hatch into infective J2 that travels and attaches to plant roots for continuation of its in...

Knocking-Down Meloidogyne incognita Proteases by Plant-Delivered dsRNA Has Negative Pleiotropic Effect on Nematode Vigor

The root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita causes serious damage and yield losses in numerous important crops worldwide. Analysis of the M. incognita genome revealed a vast number of proteases belonging to five different catalytic classes. Several reports indicate that M. incognita proteases could play important roles in nematode parasitism, besides their function in ordinary digestion of gia...

In vitro proteolysis of nematode FMRFamide-like peptides (FLPs) by preparations from a free-living nematode (Panagrellus redivivus) and two plant-parasitic nematodes (Heterodera glycines and Meloidogyne incognita).

Proteolytic activities in extracts from three nematodes, the plant parasites Heterodera glycines and Meloidogyne incognita, and the free-living Panagrellus redivivus, were surveyed for substrate preferences using a battery of seven FRET-modified peptide substrates, all derived from members of the large FMRF-amide like peptide (FLP) family in nematodes. Overall protease activity in P. redivivus ...

Total sterols in root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita infected cotton Gossypium hirsutum (L.) plant roots*

Two near-isogenic breeding lines of Gossypium hirsutum (L.) (upland cotton) were inoculated with eggs of Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid and White) Chitwood (RKN) in greenhouse pots. One line was susceptible (ST-213) and the other was resistant (81-249) to RKN. Eight days after inoculation, roots of plants and their controls were analyzed for total sterols by GLC and GLC-MS. The total content in ...
